Overview
A development application for a new ferry terminal in Applecross, City of Melville has been received by the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC). The application is to be determined under Part 10 of the Metropolitan Region Scheme (MRS).
The application forms part of the Public Transport Authority’s METRONET on Swan Ferry Service Expansion Project. Valued at $7.7 million, the proposed ferry terminal comprises of the following land and water-based elements:
a fixed jetty with covered waiting area
gangway and floating pontoon
modifications to the footpath and principal shared path
bicycle u-rails, and
landscaping adjacent to the land-based infrastructure.
The application from Element Advisory on behalf of the Public Transport Authority is being advertised to seek public comments.

The last date to provide comments is 23 October 2025. Late submissions may not be accepted.
